How Do You Install Aluminum Termination Bars On A Rubber Roof?
Termination bars are long thin pieces of metal that are installed along the edges of rubber roof systems to secure them in place. Although termination bars can be made of a variety of metal, aluminum is typically preferred because it is lightweight and does not rust. Termination bars are typically located at parts of the roof line that have an abrupt change in slope. It is also installed at the top of walls when the rubber roofing is installed vertically. Place an aluminum termination bar at the edge of the rubber roofing membrane where you want to secure it in place. Typical locations are at the top edge of a wall or on flat roofs where they suddenly slope upward at an angle. Insert screws into each of the pre-drilled holes in the termination bar and secure the screws in place using a screwdriver. If the material underneath the rubber membrane is concrete, drill pilot holes using a drill and then insert masonry anchors rather than screws. Insert any additional termination bars by butt
