How Do You Install A Wire Cage Gutter Strainer?
If the gutters on your house are clogged, the overflow of water from heavy rainfalls can damage your house. Water pouring onto the ground near your foundation can cause erosion of the soil, inviting the water to invade your basement. Clogged gutters also can overflow onto the fascia, the board that holds the gutter, resulting in rotting boards. The solution is a wire gutter strainer. Erect your ladder near the downspout that carries water from the gutter. With some low roofs, a 5-foot stepladder will do. With taller roofs, you may need to use an extension ladder. Climb the ladder and inspect the point where the downspout joins the gutter. Look for possibilities such as no gutter strainer in the opening of the downspout pipe, a clogged gutter strainer, or broken wires on the gutter strainer. If the downspout has no wire strainer or the wires are broken, go to Step 3. Determine whether the downspout pipe is round or rectangular. Most gutter strainers have a round basket design at the top
