Windows XP Service Pack 2 can be either downloaded from the Microsoft website or can be purchased from Microsoft for a nominal fee. Purchase the Service Pack 2 disk from Microsoft or download the file from Microsoft’s website. Be aware that this is a large file of several hundred megabytes and may takes hours to download if you have dial-up or an otherwise slow Internet connection (see Resources below). Back up all important information to CD or DVD before installing the service pack.
