How Do You Install A Washing Machine Drain Hose?
A washing machine drain hose provides an escape for laundry waste water. Washing machines pump used water out through a receptacle in back. Laundry rooms genearlly have a drain pipe receiver, or stand pipe, extending up from the wall. Install a hose running from the washer to the stand pipe to move the water to the sewer. Plan your attachment. Place the hooked drain hose against the back of the washing machine near the waste water receptacle. Place the other end of the hose next to the stand pipe. Be sure you can secure the drain hose at the receptacle, and set at least 2 inches of the other end into the stand pipe without bending or crimping the hose. Attach the hose to the washer. Slip the ring clamp over the end of the hose you’re attaching to the washing machine and slide it a few inches back.
