How Do You Install A Washer Drain Pan?

0

Add a drain pan to your washer to prevent leaks from ruining your floor. For washers located on upper levels of your home, escaping water could also cause serious damage to the ceiling of the floor below. Homes with washer and dryer connections will also have a floor drain in that room. You will need this drain for your drip pan installation. Unplug the washing machine and disconnect the hoses. Lift the washer with an assistant’s help and place it onto a dolly to move out of the way. Place the drip pan with the bottom hole directly over the floor drain. Have your assistant help you to position the washer over the drip pan. Ensure that the washer rests directly on top of the drain pan to allow leaks from the washer to flow into the pan and out the floor drain underneath. Place the carpenter’s level on top of the washer to verify it does not tilt. Plug the washer back into the wall and reconnect the hoses.
