How Do You Install A Toilet On A Porcelain Tile Floor?
Installation of a toilet on a porcelain tile floor is exactly the same as on any floor with one important difference. Since the toilet will now be resting directly on the porcelain tiles, the tiles will raise the toilet bowl up as high as the width of the tiles themselves. That means the the connection between the bowl itself and the drain flange will no longer meet and be compatible, and if mounted as is, this situation will cause serious leaking between the flange and the toilet bowl proper. Purchase the correct flange riser to correspond with the thickness of your tiles. Load your caulk gun with silicone caulk. Lay down a 1/4 inch bead in a circle on top of the original flange. Press the toilet flange riser onto the original flange and line up the elongated bolt holes together. Twist slightly to ensure positive contact on all sides with the silicone caulk. Place your wax ring over the flange riser drain hole exactly as you would do in any regular toilet installation. Push the toilet
