Tin ceilings are an easy decoration that can be added to any room to create a retro feel. A tin ceiling can change the way a room looks entirely. Installing a tin ceiling with screws is not difficult. All it takes is a few common tools and a weekend or two. This project will go much faster if several people work on it at once. Measure the ceiling to determine how much plywood you need. Purchase enough plywood to cover the whole ceiling. Cut the plywood into 3-foot-by-3-foot sections. Use a stud finder to locate the ceiling joists. Mark the joist placements with a chalk line. Turn off the power to the room and remove any ceiling fixtures. Screw the plywood to the ceiling joists using the wood screws. Place the screws every 8 inches. Cover the ceiling with plywood. Cut holes out of the plywood to make room for light fixtures, ceiling fans, etc., with a jigsaw. Mark the middle of the main entrance. Lay a tin tile in the middle of the entrance and mark the outline of the tile with a pencil
