There are programmable and non-programmable thermostats that are digital, and non programmable thermostats that are not digital. When it comes time to install a new thermostat in your home, you’ll have to decide what type of thermostat will work in your situation. Programmable thermostats work great for people that come and go frequently. Non-programmable ones work good for people that are home a lot. Once you figure out what you need, it is easy to install a thermostat for your heating and air conditioning unit. Switch the power off to the heating and air conditioning unit by switching the corresponding breaker off in the circuit-breaker panel. Remove the old thermostat from the wall.
