Swamp coolers use water and padding that pulls the air into the pads to be wetted down by the water, creating cool air that is blown into your home. Installing a swamp cooler in your window is easy if a bit bulky to do on your own, so be sure to enlist help when installing. Be sure to purchase a swamp cooler sized to fit your needs. Prepare your window by raising and cleaning. Place your new air conditioner in the window and place cinder blocks underneath while you level it. Place level on top and when you have it positioned in a level spot, attach the chain to the back edges of the swamp cooler and stretch it to the side of your home.
