Perhaps you have a basement that you would like to convert to a room or rooms, and you wish to do something other than carpet for the floor. One possibility is installing a subfloor for rigid floor upon which you can install tile, wood floors, or whatever you like. Buy some 2 inch by 3 inch lumber when you wish to install a subfloor for rigid flooring, and allow it to acclimate to the space you wish to use it for a few days.
