The Mercury Villager is the sister car of the Nissan Quest, with many shared components including the stereo. Adding subwoofers or video requires swapping out the factory head unit. Replacing the stereo in the Villager also gives upgraded sound and features. The installation requires basic tools and about an hour. Step 1 Disconnect the negative battery cable being careful to avoid contact with metal parts. Remove two screws from the right side and two more from the left side of the bottom center console. Pull the console forward and remove it from the car. Step 2 Pull the ashtray out and remove the two hidden screws at the front. Remove the trim surround the stereo by releasing the four clips. Unscrew the four securing screws at the front of the radio and pull the head unit out of the Mercury Villager dash, including the climate control assembly, which is attached. Disconnect the wires from behind the stereo only and let them hang from the dash. Step 3 Locate and remove the screw from
