A stepless shower pan is becoming more popular as baby boomers get closer to retirement age. These pans have no threshold or curb to step over and are mandatory if there’s a wheel chair bound user. To make it easier, the fabric pan liner is the best material to use. You use less build up of the pan, so you reduce the curb to a single bump. The stepless shower pan is also an integral part of the new design for bathrooms and the drama of the open area appearance. Arrange the shower stall to make the entrance as far away from the head as possible. You need the slope to be 1/4 inch for every inch from the wall or doorway. If you have a large area, stop the slope 1 foot after the point where there’s no water splashing. Each job is different. Cover the floor with roofing paper and then with wire mesh sheets.
