In this part 4 of how to install a sprinkler system we will build up the solenoid valve manifold for the various watering circuits employed in your design. [If you are looking for the beginning of this 7 part installation guide a link has been provided for Part 1 at the bottom of this article.] There are many different ways to build up a sprinkler manifold but this article will just concentrate on the classic design that is most commonly used in residential applications, but with a minor modification to help out with repairs. I would describe this manifold arrangement as an inverted-U design. The attached picture gives you an idea of what a two circuit manifold would look like. But, more than likely, your design will have even more paralleled sprinkler valve circuits (possibly 6 or more). We will build up the manifold separately and then install it later into the ground.
