Many people decide to install a new showerhead because their old one leaks, is broken or they just want new showerhead features. You’ll find that installing a new showerhead is an easy job and your family will be enjoying it in no time. Here’s how to install one. Unscrew the old shower using pliers or an adjustable wrench. Turn the wrench counterclockwise while holding the shower arm with your other hand. Remove any rust, calcium or lime buildup from the shower arm with a cleaner designed for the job and a rag or paper towels. Use plumber’s tape and wrap one layer, in a clockwise direction, around the pipe threads on the shower arm after you have dried the threads thoroughly. Screw on the new showerhead in a clockwise direction over the plumber’s tape. Stop tightening the shower head as soon as you feel any resistance.
