How Do You Install A PCI Wireless Router?
The importance of Internet connectivity to communication, business and productivity has created a huge demand for wireless networking. While wired network connections typically have greater dependability and often attain better speeds, the convenience of wireless makes it equally beneficial. In order to set up a wireless network, wireless network cards must be installed on each computer, and a wireless router must also be used. Wireless network cards are typically installed internally in PCI slots and use an external router, but sometimes routers are installed internally in PCI slots as well. For either PCI device, the installation process is the same. Turn off the computer and take out all the cords from the back. Open the left side of the computer’s case using a screwdriver. Set the computer down on its side so you can look at the motherboard. Locate a free PCI slot. PCI slots are usually lightly colored and arranged parallel to the ground near the back of the case.
