How Do You Install A Non Programmable Thermostat?
A thermostat is the central point of contact between a homeowner and his temperature-control system (i.e., furnace and air conditioner). A thermostate can be set at a predetermined temperature and will run the furnace and/or air conditioner to maintain that temperature, plus or minus a few degrees. Non-programmable thermostats are the simplest thermostat available, as they do not have intricate temperature ramping programs or other similar settings. Installing a new non-programmable thermostat is easy and straightforward for any seasoned do-it-yourselfer. Pop the cover off of the front of the existing thermostat on the wall. Use the screwdriver to unscrew the mounting bolt holding the thermostat to the mounting plate. Turn the thermostat around and note the location of the wires coming into the back of the thermostat. Unscrew the mounting bolts holding the wires to the connections on the back of the thermostat. Unscrew the mounting bolts for the metal mounting plate and then replace it
