So, you are renovating your kitchen and have just put in new counter tops. You are ready to install a brand new sink. Position the sink upside down where you want to install it. You will want to leave between 1 and 3 inches from the edge of the counter. Draw a pencil line around the sink. Measure inward 1 and 1/2 inches, drawing a new box inside the first. Use a sabre saw to cut along the inside line, while someone supports it from below. Lift out the cut out piece. Run a thin line of caulk around the entire bottom edge of the sink. Lower the sink into the opening, pressing down until excess caulk oozes from the edges of the sink. Clean excess caulk. Follow manufacturers instructions for installing faucets and any other hardware that came with the sink.
