How Do You Install A New Hard Drive In An IBM T43?
The IBM ThinkPad T43 is an Intel Pentium M-based laptop computer with an IDE hard drive. The T43 has several factory hard drive configurations, with sizes ranging from 30 to 100 GB. Today’s hard-drive sizes greatly exceed those available at the time of the ThinkPad T43’s release, and if you are looking for a simple upgrade, a new and faster hard drive can bring instant performance gains in addition to increased storage space. Shut the ThinkPad T43 down and remove it from the docking station or port replicator. Disconnect all cables and remove the battery. Place the ThinkPad T43 on a work surface with the bottom facing up, and the empty battery compartment facing away from you. With the battery compartment facing away from you, the hard drive carrier is in the forward-left corner of the ThinkPad T43. Remove the Phillips-head screw from the center of the hard drive carrier, and use the raised lip on the edge of the hard drive carrier for leverage to slide it out of the ThinkPad T43. Pull
