If you are looking to install a new CD drive in your computer, it is not necessary to take it to a professional because you can do it at home. However, you may find there are some hardware issues with the new drive while installing it. This should not pose too much of an issue while installing the drive, and you should be able to complete the installation process without too much trouble. Power down the computer and remove all cables that are attached to it. Remove all the screws that hold the case of the computer down onto the base.
