How Do You Install A Honda Accord Valve Gasket?
The valve gasket, or more accurately the valve cover gasket, is a common source of oil leakage on the Honda Accord. When the valve cover leaks, the oil runoff can soak the whole engine with oil, sometimes making it difficult to diagnose more than one engine oil leak. Replace the valve cover gasket to help quickly spot other leaks to prevent serious engine damage on your Accord. Do not over-tighten the valve cover during reassembly. It is made of aluminum, which is very brittle and can crack easily. Open the hood of the Honda Accord. Remove the spark plug wire cover in the valve cover. Use the ratchet to pull out the four 10 mm bolts holding it in place. Use a spark plug wire puller to pull the spark plug wires out from the plugs. Tug at the base of the wire to avoid damaging it. Loosen the 10 mm bolts around the perimeter of the valve cover, using a ratchet. Pull the valve cover off the cylinder head.
