How Do You Install A Holley Carburetor?
Holley carburetors are known for their reliability and simple design, making required adjustments rare but easy to do. As automobile manufacturers phased out the use of carburetors by the mid-1980s, most carburetors now require a complete overhaul. An alternative to repairing the stock carburetor is to replace it with a Holley. In most cases, the Holley will increase both power and fuel economy. A Holley carburetor is easy to install and installation typically takes only about 30 minutes. Disconnect the fuel line from the stock carburetor, then wrap the exposed tip of the fuel line with a plastic bag. The bag will capture any fuel which drips from the line while simultaneously guarding against foreign debris entering the line. The method by which a fuel line connects to the carburetor varies, but the vast majority of fuel lines are held in place with a clamp, which is either removed with a flat head screwdriver or with a pair of pliers, depending on the design of the clamp.
