When your dryer doesn’t dry, the reason is often that your heating element has gone bad. You can replace a heating element on your Maytag dryer without a whole lot of work and save yourself lots of money. Power down the dryer from the wall outlet or the breaker/fuse box. You can simply unplug the dryer or throw the breaker in the fuse box. Remove the back dryer cover. Pull the dryer away from the wall. Using the screwdriver, remove the screws from the back cover. Remove the back cover and place it against the wall. Remove the long vertical can located on the right side of the dryer. This can has the heating element inside.
