How Do You Install A Heater Core In A Chevy Cavalier?
A heater core on a Chevrolet Cavalier is a small radiator located inside the vehicle’s dash that supplies heat to the passenger compartment. Heated coolant from the engine is routed to the heater core through rubber hoses. A electric blower motor draws air from outside the vehicle and blows it across the heater core. The heated air is directed to either the dash, floor or defroster through ducts located in the dash. The heater core will need to be replaced if it begins to leak. If you notice a puddle of engine coolant on the floor in front of the front passenger seat of your Cavalier, the heater core is most likely to blame. Disconnect the ground cable from the negative battery terminal. Wait until the engine is completely cooled. Then remove the radiator cap from the radiator. Drain the cooling system. Locate the petcock valve on the lower corner of the radiator. Place a waste coolant pan underneath the petcock valve. Open the valve to drain the coolant system. Remove the heater lines
