How Do You Install A Headlight In A 2000 VW Beetle?
Changing a headlight on a 2000 VW Beetle is not quite as simple as it is for most cars. There are several steps you will have to perform before you can access the headlight bulb. Although it is a bit of a cumbersome process, most Beetle owners should be able to perform this task without the aid of a professional mechanic. Changing a headlight will take less than 30 minutes for most people. Open the hood. Locate the headlight assembly at the front corner of the fender. You will see an “M” shaped metal wire. Lift up on this wire to release the metal band around the headlight assembly. Locate the black release button, which has a crosshair design on the end. Press in the button and lift up on the black lever on the headlight assembly. Slide the assembly out of the fender. Unplug the electrical wires running to the headlight assembly.
