I recently installed the Moan grab bar (see photo) in my own shower. I finally acknowledged my clumsiness and decided a hand-hold would be a good idea. I think these devices are a great idea for anyone, young or old, physically challenged or not. My shower is tile, floor to ceiling, so I needed to install the grab bar using the provided screws, anchor plugs and glass/tile drill bits. This is a relatively simple and inexpensive job that most do-it-yourselfers can handle. If you don’t feel up to drilling holes in your tile walls, you can buy one of those “suction cup” safety bars. This may work for you, but I preferred the old-fashioned “bolt it to the wall” style. Whether you are installing a simple, single handle grab bar, or a more complex unit, as shown, the process is about the same.
