How Do You Install A Full-Length Mirror?
When getting ready to go out on the town it is always a good idea to see if you are properly “decked-out” for the evening. Nothing reveals the truth of this better than a full length mirror. Over-ease the edges of the lumber with an over-ease bit and a router. Cut a rabbet that measures the thickness of your mirror in all of the 1 x 4 inch solid lumber ¾ inch back from the edge. This allows the mirror to fit behind the frame. Cut two pieces to fit the top and bottom of the mirror and miter them on a 45-degree angle. Be sure that the rabbet-cut comes to the corner of the mirror. Measure and cut the two long pieces of the 1 x 4 inch solid lumber and miter them on a 45-degree angle to match the shorter pieces.
