How Do You Install A Fuel Tank Skid Plate On A Jeep?
Skid plates are available for many areas of the Jeep Wrangler. The fuel tank skid plate is available as optional equipment, though it does come standard on some models. You can add it you your Jeep very easily if it was not factory installed; all you need is a few hand tools, the skid plate, and the hardware to attach it. You can get the skid plate and the hardware from your local Jeep dealership as well as a few places online that deal in Jeep original parts. Place a jack under the rear differential and raise the Jeep high enough to comfortably work under it. Place jack stands under the frame to support the Jeep and remove the jack. Install the fuel tank straps from the kit into the skid plate. Two slots at the front of the tank will accept the non-threaded end of the straps. Insert them at a 90-degree angle to the skid plate.
