Updating the look of an old ceiling by going retro has never been easier than it is now, using the new faux tin tile. Almost anyone can do it. Here’s how. Assess your existing ceiling. It can be covered with sheet rock, wood, acoustic tile or other tile, but it needs to be structurally sound and fairly flat. Measure the ceiling and purchase tiles. Get a few extras in case of mistakes. Choose a color and paint your tiles if they aren’t already painted, or you can paint them after installation, but it’s easier to do it before they are on the ceiling.
