How Do You Install A Clutch Slave Cylinder?
The clutch slave cylinder takes the place of the cable style of clutch release mechanism, allowing much less pedal pressure, and less maintenance. The slave cylinder uses a small master cylinder to produce hydraulic pressure when the pedal is depressed. Some master cylinders have their own reservoir while others have a separate reservoir, but they work the same. Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands. Place the drip pan under the slave cylinder. Remove the hydraulic line by unscrewing the line plug with a wrench. It’s usually a 10mm plug. Allow the fluid to drain into the pan. Do not bend the line more than required to extract the plug. Remove the slave cylinder by removing the two 13mm bolts with a wrench or socket. Bolt up the new slave cylinder with the nylon strap on the rod by pushing the clutch release arm forward, inserting the slave and screwing in the two 13mm bolts. Thread the hydraulic line into the slave cylinder and tighten with a 10mm wrench. Fill the slave cylinder
