How Do You Install A Clothes Dryer Vent?
Installing clothes dryer vents can vary on the degree of difficulty, depending on where the dryer is located. If it is next to an exterior wall, the process is simple. If it is not, you will have to vent under the house and then outside. First, mark the diameter of your outside vent cover on the interior wall where your dryer will be located. Drill a 1/2 inch hole inside the circle ,so your jig saw can have access, and cut.*Make sure you will be cutting between studs.* With a hole punch, mark the center of the hole for exterior access. Outside, find the hole you punched from the inside, and cut a hole the same diameter as inside. Put the vent duct through the hole. Attach the outside vent cover to the duct and push tight against the house. Inside, slip an o ring over the duct. Slide the duct over the dryer vent and fastened the duct to the dryer with the o ring.( An o ring, or O clamp can be purchased at any hardware or appliance store.)
