• First step is to read the users guide and familiarize yourself with the drive. • Wear an anti-static wrist band or touch the computer case to remove static electricity before continuing. • Power down PC and remove the AC power cord. • Open the computer case. • Locate the computer’s existing DVD drive and remove the power and interface cables attached to it. • Unscrew old optical drive from computer chassis and remove. • If installing an additional drive, remove cover from drive bay you are going to use. • Adjust the jumpers on the back of the drive according to the user guide. The default setting for most drives is set to ‘Master’. • If this will be an additional drive, you may need to set the jumpers to ‘Slave’. • Slide your optical drive into the drive bay of the computer. • Move, but don’t disconnect any cables that may be in the way. • Connect the interface cable to the back of the DVD drive. • The interface cable has three connectors, one in the middle and one on each end. • Ali
