How Do You Install A CD Burner In A Dell Inspiron 9400?

0

While the Inspiron 9400 laptop computer comes with an optical drive, depending on the configuration you have chosen, it may not be a CD burner. If you purchased a CD burner for this laptop from Dell, you can install it yourself in just a few minutes. The process is simple enough that even a computer novice can do it easily. Turn off your Inspiron 9400 computer, unplug all cables from the computer and remove its battery to prevent electrical shock or damage to the computer. Turn the computer upside down and remove the screw near the computer’s sub woofer, which has a small lock symbol next to it. Using your screwdriver, push on the notch in the space where you removed the screw to move the current optical drive out of the computer. Pull the drive out completely and slide in your new CD burner until it is flush with the case of your laptop. Replace the screw you removed, plug the computer back in, insert its battery and turn it on. Your new CD burner should be ready to use.
