How Do You Install A Bathtub Spout?
One of the final steps in any bathroom remodeling is to install spouts and faucets. The bathtub spout is no exception. While there are many diffrent types of spouts, installing the bathtub spout is pretty much the same for all of them. First locate the spout nipple extending from the wall. This will usually look like a metal pipe with threads on the end. Next take a tube of pipe joint compound and squeeze some out on the threaded part of the spout nipple. Apply about the same amount as you would use for toothpaste on a toothbrush. Apply this all the way around the spout nipple where you will install the bathtub spout. Now take the bathtub spout and carefully try begin to thread it onto the nipple. Eventually the spout will become to hard to turn by hand. Once you can no longer continue installing the bathtub spout by hand take a long screwdriver and stick it in the nozzle of the spout and use the extra leverage to tighten it completely.
