How Do You Install A Bar Map Sensor For Turbo Buicks?

0

A bar MAP sensor monitors the air flowing into the air intake system. It’s called a “manifold absolute pressure” sensor. When this component fails, your turbo Buick will stall suddenly while driving, you’ll experience low or extremely rough idle, or your vehicle may not even start. When this happens, you’ll need to replace the sensor. After you’ve remove it from the intake, you have to know how to install the new one. Locate the mounting hole and bracket on the passenger side fender for the MAP sensor. Turbo Buicks use either a two bar or three bar MAP sensor. Do not touch the bottom of the sensor because these components break easily. Insert the sensor into the hole, and align the mounting hold brackets with the mounting holes on the sensor. Thread the mounting screws through the sensor mount, and tighten the screws to secure the sensor to the intake. Connect the electrical plug to the sensor. Make sure the plug clicks to ensure that it is secure on the sensor.
