How Do You Install A Band Saw Blade?
Over time, the teeth of a band saw become dull or a different blade is needed to cut the material that you are using. Installing a band saw blade is easy as long as you follow the guides and made sure the teeth are facing the correct direction. With minimal effort, you can change the blade in a matter of minutes without incident. Unscrew the nuts that hold the doors over the blade and the blade wheels. There are usually two flanged nuts that can be easily unscrewed so the doors can be lifted to expose the blade and the two blade wheels. Turn the handle to loosen one of the saw blade wheels. This knob will slowly loosen the wheel so the old blade can be easily removed for replacement. Carefully remove the old blade using gloves; the teeth can be very sharp. You will need to pull it out of the guide rollers located at the bottom in the middle where the blade does most of the cutting. Unravel the new blade–it will be twisted to fit into a box.
