Installing a 2Wire 2701HG-B Gateway can seem like a daunting task at first, especially to those who have never installed a broadband modem before. The process involved in getting yourself connected using a 2Wire is similar to most other DSL and cable modems. The steps below will outline how to connect this user friendly modem easily and effectively. Plug the phone cord into the back of the modem and then into then wall jack. Plug the ethernet cable into the modem’s ethernet port and then into the computer’s ethernet port. USB connectivity is not supported by newer 2wire modems. Plug power cord into back of modem and then into an electrical outlet. At this point you should see the lights on the front of the modem beginning to come on.
