How Do You Initiate System Restore Without Using The Start Menu?
In recent versions of Windows, the System Restore function allows you to roll your computer back to a previous configuration in one step. The standard method of initiating System Restore is by using the Start menu. However, if a change has rendered your computer so unstable that the Start menu is not displayed, this may not be an option. Access System Restore in Windows Vista and 7 by using the “Computer” icon on the desktop if the Start menu is inaccessible. Right click the “Computer” icon on the desktop, and click “Properties.” If this desktop icon is not displayed on your computer, refer to Section 2. Click “System protection.” Click the “System Restore” button. The System Restore utility launches. Follow the prompts to restore your system to a previous state. Right click on the desktop and click “Personalize.” Click the “Change desktop icons” link.
