How Do You Increase Data Transfer Speed?

0

Whenever you install Microsoft Windows operating system on your computer, it automatically configures all the settings of the hardware components attached to your computer’s motherboard. Windows also handles the configuration of data transfer speed of all the modems attached to your computer. The modem’s data transfer speed refers to the speed at which different programs send data to the modem. You can change the data transfer speed of a modem easily using a Windows built-in configuration utility known as “Phone and Modem Options.” Click the “Start” menu, go to “Control Panel” and click “Network and Internet Connections.” Click “Phone and Modem Options” under “See Also.” This will open up the “Phone and Modem” dialog. Click the “Modems” tab and select the modem that you want to configure. Now click the “Properties” button. Click the “Modem” tab on the properties dialog and select your desired speed from the “Maximum Port Speed” drop-down list.
