Vodka should be nothing but water and alcohol. Due to impurities, bargain brands can have an off taste. If you’d like to experience premium vodka at budget prices, try filtering cheap vodka with a carbon filter water pitcher. Buy a bottle of cheap vodka. Look on the bottom shelf. Perhaps it will be in a plastic jug with a little known brand name. Empty the water from your carbon filter water pitcher. You might want to put in a new filter if you haven’t changed it for a while. Pour the vodka in the pitcher and let it pass through the filter. After the first pass, filter it again. Do this at least 5 times. Sniff and taste the vodka. It should be almost tasteless. If it still smells like gasoline, plastic or industrial waste, filter it some more. Drink up when you’re satisfied the filter has done its job.
