Depends on where the source file is and how that is encoded. And what part or program of Vegas you have, if its the Pro version, you may have to import the file as 2 seperate entities, one for video and one for sound…..you should first try to recode the original file so that the audio and video are either all part of the import or at least coded in a way that Vegas can seperate the video from the audio. If you are attempting to capture the file or import it from an external source, depending on if you are importing, transferring, or recording; could determine what settings to actually use….check your audio mixer and make sure the correct input source is selected for “recording’ and also the correct output for the sound to come through.
