How Do You Identify Phishing Fraud In An Email?
A phishing email is a type of fraudulent email in which scam artists try to obtain your sensitive personal or financial information. Often, phishing emails contain real logos stolen from the company being impersonated. These fraudulent emails could direct you to a phishing website where your bank and credit card account numbers, PIN numbers, usernames or passwords could be stolen. Clicking on links within a phishing email could also cause or a virus or Trojan to be placed on your computer. Look at the email address. Commonly, fraudulent or phishing emails claim to come from a major company such as Chase Bank or Microsoft. However, the email address does not contain a corresponding domain such as “chase.com” or “microsoft.com” as it should. The email address may look like the correct address on the surface, but when you check the full email headers, the real email address from which the message was sent doesn’t match. Look at the form of address. If the email addresses you as “Dear valu
