Connecting a VHS recorder (VCR) to a computer requires an analog-to-digital converter box available at electronics stores and online retailers. The box transforms analog data from the VCR into a digital format your computer can understand. Now you can transfer all those old VHS home movies to your computer for editing and burning to a DVD, or you can transfer video files from your computer to the VCR for recording on a VHS tape.
