Sometimes just a little extra light in the room will make a difference between finding your way and staying lost. Turn off the power to the switch you are replacing. Disconnect the circuit by turning off the breaker that powers the area you are working in. Remove the screws that hold the switch cover plate to the wall. There are two screws to remove, one at the top and one at the bottom. Expose the switch and the wiring.
