Laptops are becoming a popular tool for DJs all over the world. It is quick and easy to introduce a laptop into a DJ setup. Make sure that you are using a DJ mixer that has an available channel to plug the laptop into and that the mixer supports line level inputs. Locate the “Line Level” input for an open channel on the back of the DJ mixer. It should be clearly labeled. Make sure the channel’s volume is turned down before connecting anything. Connect the RCA end of the mini-to-RCA cable into the line level inputs. Plug the 1/8 mini plug into the laptop audio output or headphone jack. Start a song playing on the laptop and make sure the output jack is turned up. Find the channel you plugged your laptop into on the DJ mixer. Switch the input mode from PHONO to LINE. Gradually turn up the volume on the channel until you hear the song playing through the DJ equipment.
