How Do You Hook Up A Component Cable?

0

Component video cables are a step up in quality from composite A/V cables, but the picture they transmit is not quite as crisp as the one you can get with an HDMI cable–nor are they as simple to connect. Even so, high-definition component video cables make an excellent substitute when HDMI output is unavailable, and they are still very easy to hook up. Not all component video cables include stereo cables, so you may need to purchase separate audio cables for stereo sound. Check your TV/HDTV to make sure it has ports for component video input. These will be colored ports–red, green and blue (RGB). Most high-definition TVs have these ports. Check your other device to make sure it has ports for component video output. Many game consoles (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) and some video players (DVD, Blu-Ray) are capable of component output. Refer to your user’s manual if you are unsure. Power off the TV/HDTV and the device you want to connect to it. Plug the red, green, and blue component cables
