How Do You Hook Up 3 Satellite Receivers?
Connecting three satellite receivers to a dish system makes it possible to watch television programming on different channels in three rooms. Each receiver connects with coaxial cable to the satellite dish through a device called a multi-switch, which contains circuitry to process multiple TV signals from the dish to the three receivers so everybody can watch a different show. Buy a multi-switch with jacks for three or more receivers at an electronics store. The satellite dish must be equipped with two Low Noise Block converters (LNBs), which are the connection jacks that feed the signal to the receivers. Connect the two coaxial cables from the satellite junction box inside the building to the two Input jacks on the multi-switch, typically labeled LNB 1 and LNB 2, or A and B. The cables connect to the multi-switch jacks by turning the threaded coupler on each end clockwise until tight.
