Valentine’s Day is almost like a second Halloween for many teachers and children, because it’s all about the cards and candy and not so much about love! Still, holding a classroom Valentine’s Day party is a great way to beat the winter blahs, and show the students how much you care about them at the same time! Plan wisely. You will want to hold the party at the end of the day, when you can send them home to their parents all full of candy and sugar. You will also want to do it on Valentine’s Day, unless it lands on a weekend. In that case, plan it for Friday and make it a fun way to end the week! Send home a letter to parents detailing the date and time of the party. Make sure it contains a list of names so that the students can make sure everyone gets a Valentine, and not just the most popular kids. Remind the parents that every child needs to receive a Valentine, and if you wish, ask the parents for donations such as cookies or juice. Decorate the room for the party. Let the students
