How Do You Hit A Forehand With Topspin?

Lower the head. Whatever grip you’re accustomed to, to do this properly, you need to start your swing with the Racket Head low on the Forehand side. Swing forward and up. Your arm motion will bring the Racket toward the ball and sweep up at the same time. Brush the ball. In making contact with the ball, the Racket needs to brush up the side to produce a Top Spinning effect. The contact area is very small so it takes extreme precision to master this stroke. You may find that at first you will make contact with the top of the Racket head and send the ball flying over the fence or you will completely miss it altogether. Follow through. Keep your stroke going to finish out the circular motion after making contact. Good follow through is always key and it keeps your momentum going. Practice! The only way to add this stroke to your arsenal is through repetition. Keep trying no matter how awkward it seems at first. Before you know it, the ball will clear the net more often and stay in bounds
