A flat screen TV looks sharp hanging on a wall in the home theater, but the wires dangling below it tend to diminish the dramatic effect. A cleaner, more professional-looking installation is possible by hiding the speaker wires and other cables in the wall behind the television, then routing the cables to an audio-video receiver through a second hole closer to the floor. Electricians use a tool called a fish tape to guide wires behind the wall. It takes a little practice, but the finished effect is worth the effort. Shut off the electricity at the circuit breaker for the room where the wires will be installed in the wall.
