Most people want to offer help when they learn of a friend or family member who’s lost a loved one. Here are some tips to help you to help them in their time of grief without getting in the way. Call the family as soon as possible after you learn of the death of their family member. Tell them who you are and offer your sincere sympathy. Ask if they need or want anything and tell them you would like to stop over. Suggest a time, if it’s convenient for them. Offer your assistance with errands or housekeeping chores.
